Tawau: The Holy Trinity Kindergarten holds their yearly graduation day on Saturday, 18th November 2017 where some 400, including parents and family members of the Kindergarten children, attended the event beginning from 7.30 to 11.30 in the morning.
The theme for this year’s event is “The Beauty of Kindergarten” whereby some 93 pupils, aged 6-years old, joyfully received their certificate upon completing their preschool education at Holy Trinity Parish Hall.
The ceremony began with a prayer in Bahasa Malaysia led by a Catholic student.
Sr. Mary Julita Joseph, the In charge of Holy Trinity Kindergarten, expressed her gratitude and thanks for the valuable participation of parents by witnessing the success of their children who completed their early education. “Coming together and witnessing the graduation event for your children is part of the love and concern you show to your children, a gesture which helps develop their confidence and self- esteem,” she said. She also thanked all the support and assistance received from the parents who put their trust in sending their children to the Kindergarten. As per record, Holy Trinity Kindergarten reached its 93 years of existence since 1924 producing good and better students preparatory to a higher education.
A few invited guests were present, including Mr Renaldo Delos Santos, the chairman of the Board of Governors for Holy Trinity Kindergarten Tawau, with his team, Mr Boney Joumil, the Parent Teachers Association (PIBG /PTA) Chairperson and St. Patrick Kindergarten Principal.
Mr Boney also thanked everyone for the support shown by the teachers and also the parents in making the event successfully organized.
Mr Renaldo shared his views on the importance of Preschool education in preparing them to face the growing challenges in terms of educational opportunities. He stressed also that a good education cannot be denied and pre-school education is one of the opportunities provided by both the government and the private sector to be available to everyone.
Early education not only stresses on learning the subject taught but also about learning how to interact socially at the very early stage. This is also where the children learn how to be in communion with other people with various backgrounds. Most of all, they learn the basic moral values in their tender years.
Besides the presentation of certificate, all other pupils from year 4 and 5 had presented their dancing presentation beautifully. The presentation of gifts to those who have won in the earlier competition such as colouring and drawing competition, English and Bahasa Malaysia reading competition and the best attendance of the year added to the excitement of everyone.
The program then ended at 11.30 in the morning to greet the long-awaited school holiday for children.
